Investment supports the scale-up of in-field measurement of plant-available nitrogen
Potsdam, Germany, October 12 – Stenon, a provider of real-time soil intelligence for agribusinesses, today announced that Yara Growth Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of Yara International ASA, has invested in the company in a second closing of its Series B financing.
Plant-available nitrogen, a key crop nutrient, is highly dynamic, varying across a field and over the growing season. Yet many fertilizer decisions are still made with limited soil information. Stenon addresses this gap with real-time soil nitrogen intelligence that can become an important data infrastructure layer for precision agriculture and crop nutrition connecting better soil information with more efficient nutrient use and stronger agricultural productivity.
“Our technology is designed to transform soil data from an occasional measurement into an operational layer of agricultural decision-making,” said Niels Grabbert, Founder and CEO of Stenon. “By generating high-resolution soil information directly in the field, we aim to give farmers and agronomists a stronger basis for nitrogen management decisions. As we scale our offering across crops and regions, we welcome Yara as a partner – an industry leader with more than a hundred years of experience in crop nutrition and agronomy.”
With the additional Series B funding, Stenon is accelerating the development of its soil nitrogen intelligence platform, combining real-time soil intelligence with expertise in crop nutrition, nitrogen management and digital farming. The goal remains: more efficient input use and stronger agricultural productivity.
